2012-07-22 05:28:00 | It will be G.992.3 versions. Try ADSL2+ first but it won't work if your exchange hasn't been upgraded. If it doesn't connect after a few minutes , try just plain ADSL | pheonix (36) | |

2012-07-22 06:26:00 | Yeah Multimode will choose the best possible :-) | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
2012-07-22 06:27:00 | Mutlimode seems to be very slow, only about half (7.4 Mbps) of what I got before (old Thomson Speedtouch). Just set it to ADSL2+ (G.9923) and up it goes -- 14.49 Mbps). What are the differences between ADSL2+ (G.992.3) and ADSL2+ (annexM) ?

2012-07-22 08:42:00 | Well that's strange... Multimode should choose the best | radium (8645) | |
2012-07-22 10:22:00 | I seem to recall that annex-m has a higher upload speed but not used in NZ anyway. | pheonix (36) | |
2012-07-22 10:49:00 | So, ADSL2+ (G.992.5) is the best available in NZ? Sorry, there was a typo in my above posts - that it should be ADSL2+ (G.992.5) rather than ADSL2+(G.992.3).

Multimode basically autoselects for you, but not always to the fastest option! ADSL2+(G.992.5) is your best choice, as long as your ISP and DSLAM etc support it. Annex M gives up to 3Mbit upstream (at a cost of some downstream speed) but NZ only supports 1Mbit up. |
