hi there
iam running windows 2000pro and i dont have service pack and havent updated my windows so what if i forgot my password and how would i be able to go in without it, or can we change it by going through safe mode what can we do about it |

I you have access to any account of the administrators group on your system you can get a copy of lophtcrack 3 (LC3) and crack the password on the account you have forgotten. It can be time consuming (i cracked a 10 alpha-numeric character combination in 16 hours using its brute force method), but it is easier than formatting and reinstalling everything. |

Of course, if you had access to any of the administrative accounts you could then simply reset the password anyway. |
