| 35058 | 2002-02-09 20:21:00 | is there any particular software that is better than the rest for improving modem speed. need all the help i can get on my sloooow intel ham data fax 56k modem. it also seems to take a real long time to verify username/password since going to win2k. any ideas?? thanks guys! cheers |

| 35059 | 2002-02-09 21:58:00 | hello terry, before trying these, take a note in case you have to return if something stops working. 1. to speed the dialing of your modem, in extra settings, under the modem icon in the controll panel, type S11=50 2.right click, your ips icon in dial up networking and click properties, remove the tick from 'use area code and dailing properties, click the server type tab, remove all the ticks with exception of TCPIP click ok all the way out. at your own risk, cheers, Bob |
