| 35268 | 2002-02-11 04:10:00 | Recently formated my pc with a new OS (replaced win95 with win98se) using the full install method (as apposed to an upgrade)and now the computer seems to hang for quite some time at the 'windows startup' screen(about thirty seconds)while it hangs their seems to be no activity ie.no hdd light flickers or hdd noises or anything at all. Then after what seems like forever it comes to life and displays the desktop. | Guest (0) | ||

| 35271 | 2002-02-11 08:49:00 | Philip If you have a network card installed but not connected or an on-board network card, disable it in device manager and boot will speed up tremendously. The delay is often caused by the computer looking for a non-existent network connection. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
