| 35501 | 2002-02-13 04:46:00 | Is there any way to remove the my computer / recycle bin / my network places icons from the desktop of a single user in win2000 pro? I also need to be able to remove access to the settings & run menus from the start menu. If it is possible i would also like to remove the programs menu, so that the only items available are shut-down and log-off, and a couple of programs that i want the user to have access to. I would also like to restrict the display control panel so right-clicking the desktop and hitting properties does not load the display panel. I also need to remove the ability to change the system time. If someone could assist in these matters, that would be good. Cheers, Jimbob |

Although a search on the net should reveal a source. There are 3rd party programs like 'Tweakui' and 'Xsetup' that also do the same job and shareware versions are available from place like www.download.com Hope this helps ==Orac== |

Of the above requirements you want, you probably only need to use the following folders: 'Desktop' & 'StartMenu & Taskbar' & 'Control Panel' If deciding to disable Program Menus, then as a caution may disrupt many user profiles aswell. |
