35372 2002-02-11 20:50:00 I seem to be about to buy my fourth CD burner, and I am thinking: is it me, or does everyone have this problem.

My latest one is an iomega zip CD USB. Probably hasn't lasted more than six months, and is having problems. I'll probably try downloading latest drivers, etc, but it doesn't look good.

I would have written about 20 CDs, tops.

Anyone got any suggestions as to why they wear out so quickly, or what I might be able to do to fix it?

35373 2002-02-11 21:32:00 What are they doing to require replacing them?

What happened to warranties? If they only last 6 months they should all still be under warranty...

Why get a USB one? An internal one will give you a better connection between CD-R and HD.

35374 2002-02-12 03:57:00 Wanted USB so could plug in elsewhere, and had no spare hole in PC.

Starts writing, even writes TOC, then has a fit and says no disk in drive, ejects.

Using EZ CD Creator, Version 4.something.

Just wondered if they had a really limited lifespan.

And what I should try to get it going.
