35366 2002-02-11 13:18:00 it seems windows update is incorrectly detecting hardware. it has offered 'Intel Corporation - Storage
56 KB/ Download Time: < 1 min
Intel Hdc Driver Version 2.0.0.2093'

only prob is the only intel chip i have is the lan card. installing the drivers causes probs with the ide drives. easly fixed by reinstalling the correct drivers(via 4in1)

remind me to be a bit more carfull when downloading updates ;-)

35367 2002-02-11 13:50:00 This may not solve your immediate problem, but if this works you won't care...

my solution is this:

sue Microsoft AND Bill Gates AND Steve Ballmer for all they've got.

35368 2002-02-11 20:29:00 Yeh i have had problems with it trying to give me hardware updates for 2000 that are actually hardware downdates. This could really screw somebodies system if they did not realise that the hardware driver they are about to download is 3 versions behind what you have on your PC. Guest (0)
35369 2002-02-11 20:39:00 No point in sueing Bill or Steve they have no money - its all in trusts!! - and their official wage is only $50,000 a year with the rest of the supposed income actually being in stock which is given to the charitable trust called Microsoft POC (protect our cash) set up by Bill and Steve when they first set up the charity known as MS.

Its all true!!!! - do some digging.

35371 2002-02-12 03:53:00 Hi.

I did an Update on Mon and had probs. My pc locked up and the Gateway Go-Back was disabled.

Could't do anything but turn the power OFF.

Used my 'Go-Back' to find a Safe Point so the Update became History.

All ok now.

Yes, we must be careful out there!

Peter.
