35639 2002-02-14 10:47:00 Quite often, I encounter: 'Local Area Network, Network cable unplugged' error. It connects itself back automatically after a few mimutes.

OS: Windows 2000 Professional
IE 6
Internet connection: ADSL Jetstart
Ni500 external Nokia modem & CNet Pro200 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter.

35640 2002-02-14 14:28:00 Maybe you have it set for power savings and the power saving is turning off the network card due to no activity. access it and it comes back on.

Check the lights on the card or the hub/switch to see if it is still powered

35641 2002-02-15 07:11:00 Possibly another computer is being turned on/off on the network and the network card in it is changing from standby power to full power as this reults in a few seconds of power off and thus appears as though a cable has been unplugged...
