35620 2002-02-14 06:58:00 I've noticed this on a few win 98's, however I've just upgraded from Win 98 to Win XP Pro. My computer used to automatically shut down, however now I actually need to switch it off. I can adjust the timing on switch off in Bioss, but can't get the actually auto shut down to activate, and the Win XP help doc ain't much help.

Any idea's?

35621 2002-02-14 21:50:00 For some reason MS have decided this is the best option to default to.

Go to Control Panel --> Power Management --> APS (i think) and check the box that says Advanced Power Management.

Im at work on my Win98 PC so I cant quite remember the exact words but that should get you shutting down automatically.
