To answer my own query, I've found the file in the address dropdown list in My Computer. Now called 'Norton Protected recycle Bin'. Opening this, I was able to empty the contents. When I returned to the desktop, the icon had reappeared. However, attempting to open the file by double-clicking on the icon, the whole works froze, and only the reset key on the CPU would get things going again. In retrospect, this must have started when I installed Norton SystemWorks 2002 some weeks ago - a problem I'll now take up with Symantec. I'd be interested if anybody has had problems with this programme. |
