35523 2002-02-13 09:19:00 Alright, I have 2 computers, one an old Toshiba laptop running Windows 95 and the other a desktop running Windows XP Pro. Neither of them have network cards, though I'm about to stick in a 10mbps card in the desktop.

The desktop connects to the internet via a dial-up modem, and the laptop has no modem. What I want to do is allow the laptop to connect to the net via the desktop. Unfortunately, the best networking I've been able to do is Laplink between the two and transfer files... Is there anyway to share a connection with a network card at only one end? Or using a COM cable/printer cable? I know I can do it if the other PC's running XP, but I'm not sure if my old not-very-trusty Pentium 100 with 16mb RAM can take it... ;)

35525 2002-02-13 19:09:00 Um... Correct me if I'm wrong but that article looks like I need a network card in both PC's. I have don't have any, though I should be getting one for the desktop soon. Guest (0)
