35833 2002-02-15 22:35:00 Hello computer wizz's

I have been having an argument with Symantec for ages over my subscription to Live Updates..... I have had numerous recommendations to ditch NAV, and install AVG, which I am going to do today.

Being a novice, is there anything I need to look out for, in regards to setting properties on AVG, or does it just do everything automatically?

Cheers, RINGO ;-)

35836 2002-02-16 20:23:00 Hello Ringo,

I've been using AVG for a while now, and it works just fine, know of two viruses it stopped. Once installed you might like to change the automatic check for updates calender, as its set for 30 days which is too long between updates.
good luck,
Bob

35837 2002-02-16 21:32:00 Don't bother with automatic updates. When it is needed, you are Emailed. Latest update was this AM. From reading other posts on this site, it appears to cause less hassles than the commercial {pay forever} one's.

35838 2002-02-17 07:40:00 Hi Bob,

I have had AVG installed for a little while now, and am hoping you can furnish me with some info on it....

How / where do I go to configure the Auto Updates calender. I have got something working every couple of days that 'scan tests' my computer. Is this the calendar that you are talking about???

Regards, ALAN
