35830 2002-02-15 22:21:00 Hi everyone,

My email is doing something very strange.....

For the last two nights, at approx the same time, my Outlook Express has been sending a message to one of my Hotmail accounts.

The first time I opened it up, and it was a whole page written in some sort of code, which I didn't understand, being a newbie. I freeked out, quickly deleted and then ran a complete NAV scan. This came back as no apparent virus found, so I managed to breathe a sigh of relief....

However, last night, I got another to my same Hotmail account. I haven't opened this one up yet and just have left it sitting idle in my Hotmail...

The message has been apparently been sent from me (it has my name on it) and the subject is: sun and smiles. Is this a virus, or is it just someone playing silly buggers - has anyone had something similar?

Regards, ALAN

Regard

This sounds very much like a virus to me. Have you a virus checker installed on your system? If so, it might be worthwhile to do a scan to see if it detects one.

35832 2002-02-16 01:44:00 Unlikely it is a virus sending itself to itself.

Have you checked out the source code for the message?

If you want Ill have a look at it, just forward it as an attachment to muckingfuddle@hotmail.com
