| 36046 | 2002-02-17 11:01:00 | I need to get into registry to delete 3 files that add remove wouldnt delete. I understand you go to run and type in something that allows you to view each entry in the registry. Can anyone advise the info you need to type into run to open up the registry.Thanks | Guest (0) | ||

To get into the registry enter regedit in the Run dialogue box. If you are not familiar with editing the reg I suggest you bone up a bit on it first as taking out an appendix instead of a gall bladder can have calamitous effects on the patient! | Guest (0) | ||

An easy way to do this is oopen regedit as outlined, then click Registry>Export Registry File Give the file a name and save it in a handy location. This way, if you delete the wrong files by accident you can easily retreive them. G P |

Notice all the programs around it. Then inside the registry search for that program and you'll find a place that displays exactly the same stuff in your add/remove box. Delete that and then close the registry and the add/remove box. Reopen it and it should be there. I forget most the registry entries as there are a lot to deal with so I just search for them. |

| 36051 | 2002-02-17 22:35:00 | it might be far easier to use a cleaner like regcleaner wwwjv16.org | Guest (0) | ||
| 36052 | 2002-02-17 22:56:00 | ....and if you want to a basic approach,(without all the fuss) then use the Tweakui98 tool, and click the Add\Remove Tab and delete the desired program. 'This also performs the same action as with doing the registry manually...' |
