| 35993 | 2002-02-17 05:58:00 | I have Windows Me about 6 months old. Have there been any service releases or patches that I can download. I find it very unreliable, even to the extent that I should get a refund or a free upgarde to XP or a free downgrade to 98 SE. | Guest (0) | ||

In my experience I have found ME to be good but for some reason it does not seem to suit everyone. Drastic last option is to consider a reformat and clean install. WinME seems to run better on a clean slate rater than as a upgrade. |

| 35995 | 2002-02-17 06:59:00 | Hi Gordon. Yes I agree, I have found WinME to be very good.... I think people start having problems with it when they start downloading every free program they can etc etc.... I suppose every O/S has its problems, but I find that ME does everything I require |

| 35996 | 2002-02-17 20:29:00 | Hello Digby, Win ME is usually pretty stable, I've found, but it does require a lot of resouces to run properly. You might like to check if you have enough RAM as its needs at least 128mb in my opinion. Another is sometimes the macafee antivirus program can cause ME to glitch, And uninstalling it and replacing it with AVG antivirus, works really well. good luck, Bob |
