| 35920 | 2002-02-16 13:38:00 | My Ipaq3800 PocketPC software crashed (fatal error in shell32.exe). After checking with Compaq, I did a hard reset, and tha machine came back to life with an intact operating system. All data lost - BUT - I had backed up all to my hard drive via ActiveSync3.5. I then found ActiveSync refused to restore data to what it saw as a new (and different) mobile device. Compaq tech tried but couldn't advise me how to get around this. To seek help from Microsoft requires the product name to be entered - but the list does not include ActiveSync. Seems Microsoft not only write bad software, they don't want to talk to anyone about it either. Any ideas? | Guest (0) | ||
