36224 2002-02-19 01:21:00 I have a 6MB winzip file that I want to chop into smaller pieces so as to copy onto 1.44 floppies and transfer to another (Non-modem) pc. Is there a programme or file that can do this?
There used to be a splitf file that could chop up .zip files; I'm hoping there is something similar.

36225 2002-02-19 01:45:00 Yes. It's called Winzip8.1. Get it from www.winzip.com. Once a zip file has been created it can split it into smaller sections. Guest (0)

36227 2002-02-19 04:24:00 'Real' pkzip (the DOS programme) has an option called 'spanning' when creating a file. That is intended for saving a big archive on floppies. It will do things like formatting disks as needed ...

I am sure that will have been carried over to the Winzip (etc.) versions.

Create a new archive, create it on a floppy and choose span multiple disks.

Then all you have to do is add that file to the archive.
