36186 2002-02-18 11:58:00 How do u keep the icons in favorites? When i add a new site to my favorite list the icon to that site appears. But after i shut down and reboot the icon disapears to be replaced by the e explorer icon. As much as i love the explorer icon i can do without it as the differnt icons are a quick and easy way to distinguish one site from another. Any help much appreciated Guest (0)
36187 2002-02-18 13:01:00 Not sure how you keep the icons that you get when you first save to fav's but on a earlier PC World disk there was a freeware icon program with heaps of icons which I used to mark selected entries in the fav list to quickly locate something.
You should be able to change the icon though even without that program I mentioned, right click the entry>properties>Internet short>Change Icon>Browse and select the icon and apply.
This is a win95 system I am going off though 98 and ME are the same principal.
Does that help

36189 2002-02-18 20:21:00 Rick, Gordon is correct in describing how to link an icon to a favourite. I had this problem also and 'resolved' it by trawling the Temporary Internet folder & subfolders for *.ico files; any that looked interesting I would save to a permanent folder, then link the favourites to the icons in that folder. BTW, if you export your favourites, the icon links don't get exported, which is a pain when you're creating a new system. Guest (0)
