36127 2002-02-18 02:37:00 While trying to backup my outlook data to a pst file I get the error message that my outlook.pst file is corrupt (the one it is reading from not writing to) and says please exit all email programs and run the inbox repair tool. There seems to be no mention of this in the help at all... any ideas on where this tool is that Microsfot tells me to run ??? Thanks Guest (0)
36128 2002-02-18 04:17:00 You have me a little stumped there as well but recently when I had a problem with MS Outlook, ( office 2000 profesional version) I simply put the disk back in and selected repair and that seemed to work. Guest (0)

You don't say what OS you are using but use the Find (files or folders) function to search for scanpst.exe.

If it is not on your hard disk, it may be on your Office CD. I found it on my HD and on the Win98 & Office CD's

It works ok but can take a while and require multiple passes to get your PST file back functioning.

You may also find that although most messages are restored and readable, some of them can't be deleted anymore.

Cheers
