The only programs I have running all the time are, explorer, system tray direct cd ad type32 (whatever that is). My processor is an AMD K450. Can anybody help me to find out what is the problem Alan Rutherford |

If not in living memory, delete any unwanted files including temp files, empty your recycle bin, reboot into safe mode then run scandisk. When scandisk is finished, run defrag. That should help. Don't be tempted to run defrag without running scandisk first as you can lose access to some files if their file size has been incorrectly recorded. This can lead to overwriting of parts of such files. If you have problems running defrag in safe mode, try downloading Power Defrag. This has been a common post on Press F1 so a quick search (top of the page) on Power Defrag will provide all the info you will need. Only the paid version will run Scandisk unfortunately.
