36184 2002-02-18 21:15:00 Is there a utility (like Tweakui) that will enable me to change the system setting for the default temp/tmp file folder in winNT. I'm a little hesitant to use regedit. My problem is a program that creates a temp file and then tries to read it. Unfortunately where it puts it and where it looks for it are two different places so the program crashes. Vendors suggestion- reinstal WinNT-yeah right!

Any idiot proof suggestions.

Thanks

To modify the location of your temp directory, open the control panel, system applet, and click the environment tab. Create new variables TEMP and TMP, and set their value to c:\temp or other folder.

Otherwise check your program, it may have an option for the temporary folder.
