| 36062 | 2002-02-17 22:05:00 | Does Outlook Express have the ability to automatically advise the user of new mail without having to use the send/receive button? It would be useful to be prompted when new mail arrives rather than have to regularly check. Thanks Peter |

Go to Tools/Options/General Tab, select automatically check for messages every, and then enter a suitable time frame, I use 5 minutes. Select play sound when a message arrives. If you miss the sound, a small email icon appears on the taskbar when a new email is present. |
