36269 2002-02-19 09:03:00 Hi Y'All

The computer hardware list is nearing completion. It is an Excel 2000 spreadsheet with hyperlinks for the homepages of NZ based hardware/component internet sites, and it has columns containing hyperlinks for each major component type and Y/N columns for other features such as Configurator, Search, On-line ordering, Portables, and a few others.

You can filter by any category and use all the usual Excel features such as sort/hide, etc.

I can save it in any previous version, but you lose features with each step back.

Please register your interest in this thread.

Heather has graciously offered to host a download on her site, but I don't want to impose on her for a handful of people, so if I get fewer than a dozen names, I'll just come back to you for e-mail addresses/versions.

Thanks to all who contributed web sites, and especially to Susan B, without whom the Christchurch sites would have been dropped.

John.

36271 2002-02-19 09:35:00 Hi John - you can count me in as well....Great work. Guest (0)
36272 2002-02-19 10:29:00 By the way, does anyone who does NOT have Excel want to try viewing the spreadsheet using the Viewer available from Microsoft?

If so, get it here:
office.microsoft.com

Unfortunately it's a 4MB download.

If anyone's interested, post to this thread when you've got the Viewer and I'll send you the spreadsheet. I'll have some questions about what features are visible.

36273 2002-02-19 10:56:00 Hi John,

Sorry, last week was VERY busy! Was involved in some major research for a (non computer related) subject which was then actioned. So much for offering to help.

Am still interested in the results.

If you want me to host the excel file send it to me. Can put it up either late tomorrow night or Thursday.

36274 2002-02-19 11:11:00 Hi Kerry

I meant to ask: Do you still need a usage monitor for your internet connection?

I noticed the other day that TweakDUN is now free - it includes an excellent monitor that can keep statistics spanning several sessions.

Get it here:
