| 36509 | 2002-02-21 05:25:00 | Lord! Lets hope so! I suspect it may be true, because the Government has just released a plan to get broadband into New Zealand in a big way... They say that broadband is necessary for New Zealand to keep up it's economic development... This probably means telling telecom to get a grip, or bringing in competition... Let's hope it's the later, then prices will ACTUALLY go down... Hey by the way, on this topic, are there any ISP's out there that support a static IP Address on a 56K Modem? What kind of pricing are we talking here? :) Erin |

| 36510 | 2002-02-21 06:32:00 | Alas I would expect the odds of broadband pricing falling in NZ to be about 0% as telecon are already running at a hefty loss on Jetstart (hence the screwing of international bandwidth and the threats of a 10GB monthly limit). They make a killing on Jetstream however so I guess it's not impossible that improved pricing could happen. I think a 256Kb/s plan might be within the realms of posibility. | Guest (0) | ||
