| 36557 | 2002-02-21 09:09:00 | i called in to a mates today and he asked about some internet charges on his phone bill. about $46 worth. only thing is he dosn't have internet :( however they where playing with an xtra disk which they installed but as far as i can tell they never completed the account sign up, it still asks to make an xtra account. obviously hes a little annoyed. just wondering if any (or how many) people have been had by these o so lovely internet install disks???? |

| 36558 | 2002-02-21 09:40:00 | Hi, I have never been with Xtra before, but concerning your problem, I would suggest you guys to call their helpdesk as soon as possible (0800 22 55 98) to delete the 'phantom' account and get them to waive the charges (if it's possible). Of course, a lesson is learnt here, never play with Xtra discs again :)... |

| 36560 | 2002-02-25 23:58:00 | Hi tweak'e I think maybe your freinds have actually installed Xtra, as far as their billing process works.... I did my install over the phone, and from memory was asked if I wanted to set up AN EMAIL ACCOUNT at the end. Maybe this is where your friend exited? If they ring the Telecom helpdesk, there should be no problems... Telecom should be able to tell whether or not any time has been spent on the internet, and I am sure the charges will be waived. After all they waived 10 grand a little while ago!!!! Regards, ALAN :-) |

And if he did not complete the Online Registration using the Xtra CD... how did the CD find out what his Telecom Account Number & Telecom Account Last Name (which need to match) were. | Guest (0) | ||
