| 36787 | 2002-02-23 10:32:00 | can't get the compaq running windows 95 to run windows anymore. Wont open in safe mode. Goes back to 'it is now safe to shut down your computer' a message comes up the gdi.exe didn't load properly reinstall windows first. It won't recognise the D drive in dos. so how do I reinstsal any advise? Di |

| 36788 | 2002-02-23 15:53:00 | If you can get our hands on a Windows 98 boot disk it has 3 Options: 1) Start Windows 98 Set-up 2) Something without CD-Rom support. 3) Something with CD-Rom support. So you could just pick the 3rd option, and then manually call the installation from the dos prompt. ex: D:\setup Email me, or post back here, and I can send you the files if you would like them, and them and then just put them on a floppy and then everything should work.
