Norton Internet security 2002 seems to kill the network connection on my main computer running xp home works fine if nis is not loaded. The computer cant even find itself with it loaded any ideas?? (apart from getting rid of nis :-)) |

Configure your firewall to allow the other computers on your network to be trusted if it's the internet connection you have to configure it to allow for it as well.
I don't quite understand what you mean the computer can't find itself when it's loaded. |

when you ping the local computer it fails without nis it gives a response time |

I *HATE* Norton Internet Security - arrrrrrrgggghhh. Much prefer ZoneAlarm : easier to use. |
