| 36673 | 2002-02-22 09:46:00 | Evening All Two related things: Possibly I'm the only one on the board who didn't already know this, but I've just discovered that you can organise your favourites using Explorer. (For some reason I thought it was a 'special' folder that couldn't be opened.) I can tell you that it's a heck of a lot easier than trying to use the fiddly tool in IE5. Second tip: If you're like me, you probably want to open TWO Explorer windows to gain a better perspective on the folders you're manipulating (e.g. to see the contents of the source and target folder when you're dragging/dropping files). Now, despite the fact that it's hardly a mammoth task to open Explorer twice then tile the two windows, it is a slightly irritating delay when you want to get straight into it. There's a freeware utility called DoubleExplore that will do it for you. Get it here: <www.jumaros.de You can specify which directories to open in each pane and tell it to keep the last sizing. I've found it to be very good. Cheers John |

It has a slightly different folder icon, but seems to allow all the operations a normal folder would. One thing I should clarify: I meant of course it was easier to use Explorer for MAJOR reorganisations of the favourites. Just moving one or two is still most easily done within IE. |
