| 36681 | 2002-02-22 07:50:00 | I've got a bunch of games on floppies that my children have grown out of and I would like to pass them on to my sister for her young sprogs. Instead of posting her a box of floppies it would be easier (and cheaper) to copy them all onto one CD with my writer, but I'm not sure if she'll be able to install them if I do that. Like, when the games are installed onto the hard drive, the setup does its bit with Disk 1, then asks for Disk 2 when ready for the next bit, then Disk 3 and so on. If they are on a CD, how will the program know where to look for the next part on the CD instead of the floppy? Can I do it, or not? |

Nice thing to do, Aunty. Only thing is that you are probably breaking your licensing agreement. Not that I agree with them, mind you. But you did agree to a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use..... robo. |

I take that to mean that I can't pass on the software whilst continuing to use it myself, which I won't be doing. Too bad if I'm breaking my licence agreement by *reproducing* them onto the CD for convenience, but since the software companies aren't around anymore, I'll take my chances. And you wouldn't tell them anyway, would you? :-) |
