1291719 2012-07-30 22:02:00 Hi
I went to install the new JAVA update. All went well until this error message comes up
Error-Java installer
Downloaded file
C:\\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\\fx-runtime.exe is corrupt

Any advice on how to proceed to get Java up and running?
thanks

1291720 2012-07-30 22:22:00 Try uninstalling all previous versions of java, then download the latest one from their site.

1291721 2012-07-30 22:24:00 Have you tried deleting that file and trying the download again? Nick G (16709)
1291722 2012-07-30 22:59:00 And use ccleaner to delete the temp files etc. Before you try to install it again. Uninstall ALL previous versions, before you install the latest version/s Speedy Gonzales (78)
1291723 2012-07-31 06:59:00 Ok, I have tried uninstalling old Java, used ccleaner and have tried to manually delete all old bits of java and the C:\\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\\fx-runtime.exe file.
Then turned of computer, restarted used ccleaner tried to reinstall and got the same message.

More help appreciated

1291726 2012-08-01 21:29:00 Read and try the JavaRa option here:

majorgeeks.com

then download and install this:

majorgeeks.com

This is the best version to use although you could try:

Sun Java Runtime Environment 6 Update 33 from here:

majorgeeks.com

if the 7v5 still doesn't work for you.

1291727 2012-08-01 21:35:00 Do you use Foxit Reader by any chance?

Had a problem couple of months ago with a Java update doing similar things

I use Opera 11.64 and was having problems with Java updating and using the Opera Forums others were having the same problems

Fix was found by uninstalling the latest Foxit and installing a earlier secure Foxit build
