| 1291497 | 2012-07-29 21:27:00 | How would I go about unbricking a Galaxy W? My brother's gone and bricked his when trying to flash Android 4.0 on it, and it's a brand new phone :rolleyes: | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 1291498 | 2012-07-29 21:50:00 | Turn it off. Then, press and hold the volume+, power, and physical home button. Should boot into recovery mode. | Nick G (16709) | ||
| 1291499 | 2012-07-29 22:16:00 | He can still get ICS on it, in fact I think there's even been work on a Jellybean ROM. As Nick G mentioned though, see here: forum.xda-developers.com |

Also, by bricked what do you mean? Is the phone stuck in the boot screen, or is absolutely nothing happening? |

| 1291502 | 2012-07-29 23:33:00 | Yeah basically you need to get into Recovery and re-flash. Phones are pretty damn hard to brick these days... | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||

| 1291504 | 2012-07-30 01:01:00 | Stuck on the boot screen. Ok, so its not completely bricked then. So its recoverable. It *should* boot into recovery if you press and hold the vol+, power, and home buttons for long enough. I presume that before you tried this you took the battery out to turn it off first, then put it back in and tried again? EDIT. booting into recovery on my vodafone 858 takes about 30 seconds of pressing and holding. |

No other way to turn it off :p When I tried it I was pressed for time as I was meant to be heading out to uni at the time, but I'll have more time when I get home. |

| 1291506 | 2012-07-30 09:00:00 | My brother managed to fix the phone himself after hours of trying. Means he gets to keep his $300. :p | pcuser42 (130) | ||
