1291046 2012-07-27 04:22:00 Anybody here use this program from IObit ? It is selling at present for US$12.97 which seems reasonable. I have used the free version for a while now, and it seems to do its job OK, but according to the blurb leaves a lot undone which the pro version will fix. What do you think? Richard (739)
1291047 2012-07-27 04:42:00 No, I don't use it. What job is it supposed to do?

1291048 2012-07-27 05:05:00 Hi,I've tried it and found it works OK,but I felt it was a bit too invasive for my liking,so it went the way of the Dodo.Good luck with your decision.Cheers ruup (1827)
1291049 2012-07-27 05:18:00 Personally wouldn't touch it, or any similar 'cleanup' type program. CCleaner does what's needed in most cases. wratterus (105)
1291050 2012-07-27 05:28:00 allways be suspicious of these all in one type programs

I often check CNET & sort by NEGATIVE reviews

After 3 weeks of use it screwed up the registry so bad I had to do a clean install windows xp pro

This update locked up two (current and win7) computers at my house until I used MSConfig to disable the startup. It took me a good long time to figure out that ASC was the problem.

This happened on 2 computers (VISTA and W7pro) - shame on me for trying again. Then it started to crash on startup

"This is crapware! Period!"

1291051 2012-07-27 08:49:00 Can stuff up your PC if you're not careful...I've experienced that before. I recommend not to get it. Unless you really know what you are doing. Here is an example : pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

I never let it scan my registry or anything important as that. Once NTDLR.dll went missing and I had to use my Norton Ghost program to restore a backup. I had lost minimal data but it was a still a pain.

1291052 2012-07-28 16:58:00 Why use any program unless it is recommended by people you trust? The exception being if you are prepared to experiment and fix any problems caused by an unknown program. As for "Advanced System Care 5 Pro" I would assume it to be malware by the name alone. nerd89 (14761)
1291053 2012-07-28 21:54:00 It ain't malware. It actually works if you know what you are doing. Something you probably shouldn't try is PC Wizard 2012. It went BSOD on me. ChazTheGeek (16619)

The same applies to your PC.

1291055 2012-07-28 23:13:00 Played around with those sort of programs years ago. Found they didn't make my computer run any better so don't bother with them now.
