| 1267373 | 2012-03-29 06:32:00 | Our ADSL connection comes up for renewal come May 2012. Orcon says our address may be available for fiber next month. The Orcon Genius is at $75. Don't want to pay more than that. On par with ADSL2. Free modem with contract etc .. Views  I am starting to think, is there much point right now? I don't really do the HD stuff or the linux downloads. Well the GB is 30GB :D And, maybe for most people out there - Joe and Jane - without a landline is different right? Mixed household here so not just young people. Gone are the days that you can just pick up a handset in any of the bedroom or at the kitchen and talk and not worry about charging. |

| 1267375 | 2012-03-29 08:18:00 | :thanks: It is more safer - the free modem under fiber is like 1 or 2yrs .. Do you know if people went for fiber, can they still go back to traditional landline and still use all the phone jackpoints? I ask b/c if I leave home, the folks don't use the Internet. |
