1291598 2012-07-30 22:00:00 I'm sorry if my suggesting EasyBCD caused you more grief, it has fixed boot problems for me in the past. Specifically I've used it fix multiboot setups where one HDD with the boot files and an older OS is to be removed and the remaining HDD with a newer OS already installed made bootable. It has an option to make a drive bootable and restore the necessary files which has always worked for me. dugimodo (138)

1291600 2012-07-31 02:24:00 Go into the system bios and disable native SATA mode.. your reinstallation should then work just fine..

i had the same problem and that fixed it like a charm.

That has the potential to break things further though, as the OSs probably won't have drivers installed for the IDE emulation.

1291602 2012-07-31 07:08:00 You could use a USB flash drive Gary. I just tried it using Rufus (http://rufus.akeo.ie/). Just added the Vista recovery ISO, it copied the files to USB. Rebooted / tried it. Worked fine. Just make sure the system supports booting from USB first Speedy Gonzales (78)
