1291588 2012-07-30 07:03:00 I dont have my Vista disc! How can I fix this without a vista disc??

I'm not sure if Microsoft have a recovery disc for download on their website, but if they do try that (either Vista or 7 will work).

1291589 2012-07-30 07:25:00 I wonder if the Vista 32 bit recovery cd / ISO Wainuitech sent me will work. What version of windows are you using now Pct?? And do you have a cd/dvd burner and a blank cd?? And are you on broadband? If you are, I could send you an ISO. Which MAY work. But you need to burn it. Its 123mb

Thanks speedy, Home Premium...I don't have a burner, just a reader... any other ideas mate?

1291590 2012-07-30 07:30:00 You'll have to borrow a vista dvd then. Since, you dont have a burner. Unless you replace the reader, with a cd/dvd burner. I think Vista has an option to make a recovery in the menu under maintenance?? But, I think you still need a burner to make the cd/dvd Speedy Gonzales (78)

1291592 2012-07-30 09:58:00 I could send a vista recovery cd, but I'll have to get blank cds first..If you send a PM to me with your address, I'll send you one. See if it works Speedy Gonzales (78)
1291593 2012-07-30 11:09:00 You need a vista ( or W7) Recovery CD, as speedy said its only around 120MB. Once you have one, try the auto fix, if it wont repair the bootloader, then you need to try doing it Via Command Prompt ( manually) 1st thing to try - Commands (www.lancelhoff.com)

Sometimes if you had linux installed, you may get the message "Element not Found", this can mean the partition is not activated, one way of fixing it is Described here (ubuntuforums.org) - Word of warning -- if using diskpart, be 100% sure of the commands, it doesn't give second chances, or prompts " are you sure",one wrong command and "poof" the whole drive is wiped clean in as short a time as it takes to go awww F***K

:Hint NEVER type in the word "Clean" and press enter unless you want to wipe the drive ;)
