| 1267915 | 2012-04-03 06:50:00 | I know of two German tourists that were slaughtered by a gang of Koreans at Fulmor Lake in SoCal a few years back. It happens to people at the wrong place - the wrong time - with bad people. It shouldn't - but it did and still does. |

| 1267919 | 2012-04-03 07:59:00 | Only a cynic would suggest the drop in reported crimes is due to near universal acknowledgement that reporting any crime not exceeding the loss of a limb, or a theft greater than $12,00, or involving a kitten is unlikely to see any action. Why report something "minor" unless the insurance compels you to? Nothing will happen. The local police are far too busy servicing paper generated and required by the Wellington squad. |

Compare anythng you like to New Zealand and they have a high crime rate, but then they have a high number of sensible sentencing type morons over there. Fortunately we live in a very safe country, crime is low overall and violent crime is very low. We have a very good Judiciary and apart from a few idiot rednecks out there, we're in pretty good shape. |

There is always more work to be done, and if locking them away is proving to work then lets do some more of that. Obviously I value a persons life much higher then you do. |
