1267185 2012-03-29 01:43:00 Do you still have to pay Telecom's $40 line charges ?? 1101 (13337)
1267186 2012-03-29 01:57:00 I may have a look. What do you guys think about fiber? How much are they going for now and the GB size? They just put the cable under our pathment yesterday. Is it come mid year some houses would be activated?

May have a look at this Telstra deal though, suits us speedwise, does the router have Rj45 ports and a USB or maybe not .... :p
For sharing a USB printer.

1267187 2012-03-29 05:49:00 You will however have to pay $105 for the 13th month won't you? As you can't cancel before teh 12 months is up, and you don't want to be without a connection either, as you need to overlap the connection with the new and old provider.

I am looking for a new provider, as my current ISPs data prices are too high. The telstra one looks good, but I would prefer no contract.

When I was with them, their international speeds weren't good, there were too many outages, and they never replied to emails through their online support system. So I wouldn't switch back.

No problems from here, they seem to have got their act together.

1267191 2012-03-30 04:02:00 Just spoke to Telecom over their live chat. I asked if they could better the plan of TelstraClear. They said I should wait until Monday, when their 'New Plans' come into effect. He said they will be much better than previous plans.

I'll have to wait till Monday to find out their new plans then.

1267192 2012-03-30 22:43:00 I have adopted a wait and see stance. I have been thinking about changing my phone line over to an internet phone as offered by Orcon and TelstraClear. Sahilcc7 mentioned about Telecom coming up with a plan on Monday and this could be worth waiting for just to see how well their plan compares. I am picking though that other ISPs will follow and offer similar deals.

At the moment I can see little advantage in having an Internet phone. Orcon offer a deal from $75 for a phone + 30 Gb. After I entered my address in I found out that because I did not live in the right place it would cost me $90 for an Orcon phone plus 10 Gb per month. This is a saving of $5.61 over having a telecom phone line and 10 Gb broadband with Actrix.

The exchange there is ready to offer fibre
