1290999 2012-07-26 23:19:00 If youve used internet banking on that PC, ring the bank & get the password changed.
Also assume any saved passwords may be compromised
Better safe than sorry (But unlikely )

1291000 2012-07-26 23:32:00 Re complete re-install - I'd love to avoid that as I have various odd programs (picked up over a decade) that I'm attached to and use occasionally [don't we all?].

If you have the installers for these programs just burn a copy to CD or flash drive etc and reinstall them along with Windows.

I don't think the scammers would typically give you a file-infector virus or anything like that, so such installation files are likely safe.

I believe they just pretend to fix your computer and then get money off you for doing basically nothing, and maybe try to steal passwords off you. It's not in their monetary interest to give you some weird virus.

1291001 2012-07-27 02:18:00 But when I run RegZooka it shows 797 errors and then goes into a loop (70% complete), and it runs forever……………..
?

Dump that - it's BS software.
Antivirus - NOD32 as first choice, Microsoft Security Essentials if you have to have a free one.

Anti-spyware: Spybot, Malware BYtes, Superantispyware. The more the better, they don't conflict and what one misses another may find.

Hijackthis (which we can then scan the log file for you) to see if there's anything lurking as well.

And that's all you'll need.

1291002 2012-07-27 07:21:00 I wasnt saying go unprotected forever just while you get the anti virus and malware.
I always download MSE or what ever before uninstalling any of those crappy anti-virus programs then unplug the net and uninstall then install the new one then connect to the net again and update then scan.

1291005 2012-08-08 10:46:00 You will protected just before need to uninstall all of freeware that you have using . Because many freeware may contains with hidden hacking tools. This type of hacking tools always sent your security info to hacker. So try to get freeware from authorized site. Malthe Hansen (16851)

RegZooka Fraud

by uswindow - 9/17/11 9:04 AM

I recently had computer issues that Dell tried to fix and could not so on advice from another friend I looked into registry problems that may be causing my problems. I read all the reviews on CNET and the company REGZOOKA came up with the highest ratings by CNET and other companies. So I went to their site, they did a 10 sec scan of my computer and said I had approx 3000 registry errors and inorder for them to help fix them I needed to pay 29.95 so like a fool (based on CNET reviews) I caved in then at the end of the payment page the total was 39.95 not seeing that they added SPYZOOKA also I paid it and completed the process and they proceeded with they called fixing all the errors! Well it took approximatly 25 seconds and they said all was fixed! Needless to say I am still having the problems and have tried to get a refund based on their 60 day money back guarantee and they won't even respond back! After further research from my credit card company they gave me a 800 number to call and it is a porn chat room number. Anyone have any ideas how the best way to deal with this and get my refund back? Everyone else be aware of this fraud company and their scam.

Nuff-Said...........

I think Regzooka did refund the complainant :eek::eek:, but that didn't fix his problem.

Cheers

Keep an eye on your credit card statement.....I suspect you may get ongoing charges.
Regzooka is looking pretty bad.....
Some dodgy software companies flood the internet with self written bogus glowing reviews
