Where you could blast a thug if he was in a place he shouldn't be in. I know Florida has that, but I know if you shoot someone out in the open, you'd better have a very life-threatening situation going on. In California, you'd better drag anyone you shoot totally INTO your house for a decent chance of a defense in court. Not sure of Montana yet - but I haven't asked either. A lot of shops here in Western Auckland dont allow people to walk in them with a hoodie on. Lets be realistic I wouldnt walk thru Otara or most parts of South Auckland by myself at night unless I had a terminal cancer or something. It might be my right but it would be dead right. |

If it was me I and I lived the USA was not carrying my own gun I would be very careful who I even had a verbal with in case they take me out. If I lived the USA I should would sure get a permit for a concealed gun be mad not to. |

| 1267904 | 2012-04-03 02:21:00 | Many states will NOT issue a CCW permit unless you or a member of your family is or was a cop, a judge or a prosecuting attorney . Even if the PoPo agree with your reasons to want to protect yourself from hoodies, they are tied by the law and can't issue the permit . Actually CCW is next to impossible for anyone who is a naturalized citizen too . Federal law states that no alien, naturalized or not can have a weapon or gun with less than a 36 inch barrel and cannot fire a single projectile . That limits it to shotguns without slugs . Illegal South American ('lost tourists') carry guns - AKs and Mac 10s - but they are exempt by their own reasoning . Even security guards have to be specially trained for their license to carry a firearm - that's in most states . They also need training and a permit to carry Mace or tear gas too . Citizen or not, carrying a weapon is illegal in most states, no matter what you've heard . OWNING them is also illegal in some states (New York and Washington D . C . are two, although the latter is not actually a state but a District . California just outlawed carrying an empty weapon in public - for whatever asinine idea they have for whatever arcane reason that remains aloof to me at the mo' . Montana and possibly Texas, Oregon, Idaho and Arizona allow residents - LEGAL driver's licensed residents to carry loaded weapons on their person, in their car, purses, coat pockets and glove compartments in their vehicles . There may be others - but I don't know for sure . Defending your home with a firearm is another thing except in New York (The Sullivan Act) and DC and Connecticut, as you are not allowed to shoot first unless you are in grave fear of loss of life or property . So - it ain't cowboys, robbers and Indians here as you all seem to think . Criminals however, don't comply with any firearm laws . Doh! |
