2012-04-01 03:03:00 | They decided to replace it after I'd already bought a new one so now I've got a brand new HP Dv6-6c49tx (goo.gl) worth around $1400 RRP. I was just wondering what sort of price I should chuck it on trademe for? I was hoping for around $1200 but I'm beginning to think that may be slightly too much?

2012-04-01 06:34:00 | I've seen people list stuff like that. Insurance came in ... spare unit that they don't need .. I think the issue is that even if it is brand new at $1,400 and it is really no different to the store, would people pay $1,200 and buy it off TM off an individual when they could just go to the store. Not saying there is anything wrong with it but if they went to a store you 'could' do a swap if it was a bad sample. Warranty may be a bit longer as well .... maybe less hassle with warranty when it was registered to the proper user to begin with. They could use a loan off the store or use the credit card. They could haggle for free accessories or a monetary discount. Flybyuys in this case. Could be other reasons ..

You could offer your own guarantee I guess. Is the laptop covered by a manufacturers guarantee? If things go wrong the buyer may have to go through the Disputes Tribunal. | Bobh (5192) | ||
2012-04-01 08:18:00 | Yeah .. if it is a replacement, do you only get the remainder of the warranty when 'you' paid for original one. Or sometimes when they repair it .. they give you 3 months. Is the warranty transferable. I know that some cameras are not. As an example, I could be wrong but Thinkpad laptops might not be. I think maybe look on TM for similar auctions, you could start auction begin $900 with reseve set at $1200 and see how it goes.

2012-04-02 04:35:00 | is this yours www.trademe.co.nz you're competing with this www.trademe.co.nz remember, people on trademe will be looking for a bargain, otherwise why would anyone buy laptops from trademe. Its not worth anything if you cant find a buyer for it, so if you are serious about selling it, drop the price to $800 and then keep dropping the price till it sells. just my :2cents:
