| 1267620 | 2012-03-31 01:05:00 | Nokia lumia 710Having the use of this phone for only a couple of hours a day to play with so far. My first impressions are surprising very good for a product I had low expectations of.Social networking and Facebook in particular are very tightly integrated into it, to a point that without being a Facebook user I feel you would never get the full use out of it. Which is probably a major downside to the phone. The majority of the things you will probably want to do is all based around tiles, from contacts to photos, in fact everything that doesn't require an app. The Nokia drive software is very good and easy to use, just downloaded the NZ maps at home and it works without a Internet connection which is a bonus and it's free.* Now for the niggles and what surprises me the most about them, they are what windows users complain about the iPhone. No external memory, I'm not sure if it's just this model or if it's a wp7 requirement. No wifi tethering that I can find (like to be told otherwise)No wifi syncing, again as above. No drag and drop of content and having to use the Zune software, again this maybe a limitation because it's connecting to a mac.Only 8GB internal storage, and no front facing camera. While none of the above is a deal breaker for me, I do like a front facing camera to use with Skype when it finally arrives. If this tile interface is similar to windows8 metro interface then I definitely like it on a cell phone, but have a feeling its not going to be nice in a bigger form factor(tablet) where you are more likely to spending time in dedicated applications............... .Feel free to rip the above apart....* |

No wifi tethering that I can find (like to be told otherwise) Windows Phone does support this, but Nokia may not have released drivers to support it (my HTC Trophy only got it fairly recently). No wifi syncing, again as above. There is, this is set up in Zune :) |
