| 36975 | 2002-02-25 07:22:00 | My father-in-law is having trouble receiving faxes with his fax modem. I'm not sure which program or modem he's got, but the OS is WinMe. He can send faxes without any problems and yesterday he managed to sucessfully receive his first fax from my computer to his. Afterwards he sent a fax to Sydney but couldn't receive a return fax from their telephone/fax machine. Does anyone know what could be wrong? |

Winfax is one of the best but I believe there are freeware & shareware versions out there. The modem should also have a Lite version of something with it. Useful Tip for testing: Telecom have a free fax testing service, quite handy while you are getting the fax working and need a lot of tests. Use 0800 801 802, make sure you have your std included in the CSID number. Good luck Sergio |

Using it is simple enough, but there must be a setting wrong somewhere preventing him receiving all faxes. The info regarding Telecom's fax testing might be handy, thanks for that tip Sergio. |

Winfax Lite is also good but if you send/receive a lot of faxes you may soon want to upgrade to the Pro version for convenience. |
