| 37295 | 2002-02-27 08:24:00 | I have had a Compaq Presario for two years now and I haven't ever been able to get it to scan disc or defrag. It comes back with a message saying it is either damaged or the bios setup is wrong.I had the technicians from the shop I bought it from in to fix it so many times and eventually I gave up as they didn't seem to have much idea about anything. What do I do? | Guest (0) | ||

You might want to let it save the disk parameters rather than autodetect at bootup --- or the reverse. Keep a note of anything you change (before you change it!). Then 'save and exit', and see if that makes things better. But if this has been happening ever since new, it might be worth a complaint to Compaq, about the quality of guarantee service. A good enough complaint might score you a new computer! |
