| 37466 | 2002-02-28 23:58:00 | You'll need some type of boot manager program. I don't think Win95 or Win98 has one. I am uncertain what you want to do with the crossover cable. You can use that to do a peer to peer network in both operating systmes. |

| 37467 | 2002-03-01 04:06:00 | 95 and 98 don't like each other. 98 was ment to be a smooth upgrade over 95. 95 and 3.11 would dual boot happily. win9x and 2000 will happily dual boot. These systems have incompatabilities in the applications they can run, which is not so with win95 and 98. Now that you know why, this is how. If either detects the other during install the install will stop. You could fool them by hiding one while you installed the other (not a simple thing). But the real kicker is msdos.sys, this file is part of what makes your hard drive bootable and it also defines the path of your host M$ operating system. So you can only dual boot two M$ operating systems when it's supported. |
