| 37637 | 2002-03-03 00:25:00 | for newbies i suggest zonealarm <www.zonelabs.com>. its easy to use but does not support ICS unless you buy the pro version. check out the faq's, install & uninstall intructions. it known to be a barstard to uninstall. most of the main firewalls are ok just have different features ease of use etc. i personaly would not pay for something when i could get a legit free version. outpost <www.agnitum.com has some good features, add blocking, dns cache, activeX blocking. its still only beta but i havn't noticed to many faults. only fault i've come across is that it dosn't support VPN. the only firewall i wouldn't touch is blackice, theres nothing wrong with the prog its just not a firewall. |

| 37641 | 2002-03-09 04:12:00 | I suggest you ignore all the ME critics. If it works for you then stick to it. I have been using ME for 8 months now and have found it great while friends have had problems with the full range of systems. Find the one you like and then learn to use it properly before screaming its the system when you have problems. As to the firewall go for either zonealarm or agnitum. I have usedf both and have gone with agnitum as it has the ad blocking features that zonealarm doesn't but it is largly a matter of personal choice between those 2. | Guest (0) | ||
