Thanks for any info..

37799 2002-03-04 05:30:00 Enabling macros allows code written in a programming language to run on your computer. There seem to be few limits on what such programmes can do --- wiping your disk, dialling a porn site in Afghanistan, emailing everyone whose address is stored on your computer with junk mails --- just the normal range of useful things your computer can do. Thes clever things even happen AUTOMATICALLY.

You won't have problems if:
(1) your computer is never connected to the Internet.
or (2) you never get email including Excel attachments.
and (3) you never load floppies containing Excel spreadsheets from other people.
and (4) you never use macros which you receive from other people.

Macros are powerful. They can be useful. If you don't use any, don't enable macros. If you do, be careful.

What's the URL of the Afganistan porn site?
Boggles the mind what one might see!
