37769 2002-03-04 02:56:00 When I tried to shutdown my computer, a window's process 'DEVLDR' pop's up and ask me to end it .... the problem is that after I ve ended it ...my comp still won't shut down, and nothing happens when I tried to shutdown again. The only thing I can really do is reset, or press the power button.

The weird thing is that, I don't seem to get this problem when I shutdown while I m still connected to the internet!?!?

Can anyone plz help?

I m using WinXP professional......

37770 2002-03-04 04:32:00 The Creative Labs driver on your pc is not compatible with Windows XP.

go to the creative labs website and find the correct Driver for it. or delete the file and stop the Devldr service.......this will do away with your sound but fix your hanging issues.

First option is better though to find a compatable driver

37771 2002-03-04 05:50:00 I had the same problem and it turned out to be the managment utilaty that comes with with the creative disk.
I downloaded the latest xp driver and removed all creative apps and all was sweet.
