37763 2002-03-04 01:51:00 A friend of mine has had problems when backing up Playstation games. Occasionally buffer underrun occurs even with no apps in the background, and at 2x speed.

CD-RW: Phillips (model unknown)
Software: Phillips Write2CD
OS: Win98SE

Any help appreciated

37764 2002-03-04 04:11:00 What CD Burner prog is he using?

I use CD Clone to back up my CD's, and it's proberly one of the best progs when getting past copy protection.

I run mine at 8X speed and I very rarely run into any probs.

If he is running CD Clone, select error skip as that sometimes works. Otherwise try www.gamecopy.com (I think) it's got some good links to assist backing up CD's.

37766 2002-03-04 05:14:00 The CDRW might not support reading/writing in RAW mode.

37767 2002-03-04 09:18:00 using clone cd should be ok but if not already doing so try using the write to image file option and then write to cd from the image file on the hdd. also defrag prior as it can help if their is plenty of contiguious disk. Guest (0)

P.S. robo - 'chipped' playstation, incase the discs get scratched - you know how it can happen with discs on the floor etc :-)
