Reformatting can be a nerve racking experience first time round but once you have all the various drivers reinstalled with your OS it gets easier. | 37898 | 2002-03-07 20:38:00 | First you need to create a start up disk WITH CD ROM support. www.compguystechweb.com Then you back up all important files namely Favourites, address book and maybe some emails. Nearly all are able to be backed up in the programs by File>import/export. Then when your sure you don't need anything on the PC, start PC with floppy that you made in. Start with CD ROM support then at the prompt: Type 'format c:' without qoutes. Then confirm. That's it. When finished, type e: to get to cd rom then insert OS(win98 etc.) disk; type setup at the e: prompt FDISK is a utility you use first to make or change partitons and FATs. |
