| 37886 | 2002-03-04 11:19:00 | So here we are.......Still no ADSL for me :-(, check the messages on Xtra. They postpone the ETA for return to normal services by a couple of hours......every couple of hours.....at this rate I wont have a Zfree connection to use either!!!! Geez things must have gone FUBAR somewhere...... Can't check my email because they block Zfree IP's at the Xtra end....... This is getting beyond funny..... But on the bright side :-), glad I'm not a Telecom Techie at the moment...... On the down side....rang telecom about a rebate on our charges for all the down time.....No Way - No How - Never as they place no guarantee in their services. Glad to see they have faith in their products....just annoys the s&#t out of me seeing all the adds on TV at the moment thrashing their great Xtra products....not to mention the one showing all the systems they have in place to back things up in the Auckland CBD.........GRRRR |

ZFree blocks pop and smtp access to ALL ISPs, so this would possibly be the cause of not being able to check your email. Maybe Xtra has webmail you could use to view your email? Also, if ADSL is out, why not ring Xtra and ask them to set you up on a dial-up account since you're paying them good money for a service that isn't working. |

| 37890 | 2002-03-05 03:53:00 | Kia Ora Tazzie When was Xtra's DSL service down and what locations were affected? I thought there was something funny going on during the weekend but I scanned Press F1 using dial up and saw no complaints so I thought it was my end. I could usually log on ok but after a short period the connection would die. It went on until this morning and then settled down. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 37891 | 2002-03-05 05:44:00 | Hey there Billy :-) Telecom screwed something up and it took out Dial up most of Sat & Sun and ADSL from Sat through to some time today. I heard that they tried upgrading the server software...and apparently some of the Hardware at some of the exchanges threw the towel in. It was causing erratic service for the last few days. Glad to see you back on Billy |
